Don't Mess with my Baby

Are you really gonna slam on somebody's child? Like...really?

First, Tia Mowry-Hardrict received harsh and insignificant feedback on her baby boy, Cree's appearance. Now, her sister is going through the same thing. Tamera Mowry-Housely is receiving flak for her interracial marriage and how "white"baby Aden's skin color is. Seriously?

Whether you're full of melanin or not, check out your baby photos and take a gander at what color you were at birth. Were you brown? Light brown? Dark brown? White? Pink? Yellow? Blue? Red? You eventually came into your color, right? And who are you calling ugly? Have you seen yourself in the morning, before the face wash, astringent, make-up and whatnot? Are you even aware of your stank face?

These awesome women have some beautifully adorable babies and are no different from any other good parents who want to raise their kids to be respectable individuals. This can be a challenge in this unstable society we live in. Both sisters had some words for their online haters.

Tia said the comments said about Cree were disgusting and that society is too focused on looks. Tamera blogged on the Official Tia and Tamera website that her only job is to be the best mommy for her precious boy and that love knows no boundaries, especially with skin color.

I agree with them; aren't there some celebrities who adopted kids outside of their race and are still awesome individuals? Why is it wrong now?

Oh yeah, that whole race thing right? Prince was so right in his Dreamer song when he sings, "21st Century, oh what a shame, race still matters? A race to what? Where are we going? We're in the same boat but I'm the only one rowing..."

I'm gonna tip my hat, give two snaps and a solid moonwalk to these fabulous and fierce women because of their multifaceted eloquence and not letting anything or anyone deter them from success. Tia and Tamera was renewed for another season (just waiting for the DVD release). Tia just released an exercise DVD, and Tamera is a featured blogger for People.

Words hurt; Tamera blogged in her post that the comments were taken personally and her skin wasn't that thick. And rightly so. I don't know where people get off thinking that they can talk blatant ignorance and disrespect something about someone but have the nerve to get upset when someone gives it right back to them.

Think before you speak, comment, tweet, blog, pin and post. Just blogging...
