My Parle' Magazine Debut

Shawty Putt “Dat Baby (Don’t Look Like Me)” has already received numerous hits on MySpace, YouTube and Allhiphop.com. Lil’ Jon’s artist, Shawty Putt, is a songwriter/rapper who is anything but new to the industry. If first impressions are everything, this unofficial newcomer has already impressed his fans with his humor, rhyme and flow. “I’m a new artist, but I’m not new to the business,” states Putt. “I’ve been songwriting for ten years, I’ve been traveling with Lil’ Jon for the last two years and I’ve learned a lot of stuff from him.” Lil’ Jon looked to Shawty after seeing his writing skills, found in songs like “Gangsta Gangsta,” by Lil’ Scrappy and “Presidential” by the YoungBloodZ. The crunk mentor also spoke favorably of Shawty Putt for understanding the music business. “I know how to take direction and listen to the producers,” said Putt. Originally from Atlanta, GA, Putt received influences from other talents like Goodie Mob, Outkast, and the Young- BloodZ. These influ

The Prowess of the Airwaves

Media mogul Jeannie Jones has taken her creative ingenuity and is making the best of her career as both a radio/television personality and media executive. Originally from Washington, DC, she landed her first radio/television gig in the Norfolk, Virginia Beach area after completing her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland. She’s never too busy to send a shout out to either one of her favorite celebrities or the everyday working person. She loves her work and being able to give back to her community. As a high school teen, she was into track and field, cheerleading, roller skating, bowling, writing, and music. “As a kid growing up, I learned to play the piano and saxophone,” said Ms. Jones. “I wanted to be the sexiest saxophone player," she admits with a chuckle. She was very spontaneous for creating stories about her visits to various places that before she knew it, she was bitten by the radio bug. “For my audition in Maryland, I realized how witty I had

The Sociology of a Black Woman, pt 1

They attempt to construct who we are, but it's through a negative light; what I call self-defense, they call belligerent and quick to fight. If we hold our heads upright with confidence and positive idiosyncrasy, we are perceived as haughty and behave selfishly. I'm neither above nor below anyone here but in myself I do take sufficient pride. I refuse to besmirch my character for their sake and have them make big profits on the side. My place in society I am taught by force, and this we all know well. Everyone has the freedom to do as they please, but let a black woman do her own thing, all our quick to run and tell. This society is anything but just, reasserting who we really are is a mandatory must! Things people say about us as a whole they swear they know up and down. They make reference to these crazy stereotypes and use them to keep us down. Some have said that we aren't able to learn and are destined to suffer defeat, they yield the audacity to degrade our potential

My Interview with Eboyne' Jackson

Eboyne’ Jackson graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in Communications from Post University (Waterbury, CT) in 2007. In a short time, Ms. Jackson has had appearances in various publications in the Greater Waterbury region. Additionally, she has started her own mini-magazine insert, Exclusive as well as her own public access show. She has interviewed many people, including musician and producer Ne-yo, the HeavyWeights music producers, and sisters Vanessa and Angela Simmons. She has found her interest in fashion, entertainment, pop culture and life and plans to have her own independent magazine and publishing company. 1) How did you become involved in journalism and writing? Ms. Jackson has always had a talent for writing whether it was for a grade or freelance. Ironically, she didn’t really have the drive until she attended Ne-yo’s birthday bash in October. There Eboyne' found herself in the press pool with the HeavyWeights and Ne-yo himself. She said being amon

What's going on?

This is another blogspot I've created to publish more of my works and do some experimentations with some filming. Forgive me for this short post, but I just got back to school and I already have homework. I will still be posting my literary arts on the Avant-Garde Conformist, be on the lookout for some things both old and new...
